A Digital Transformation Story

The KeyTours project shows how a website can become much more than a digital storefront. By combining brand identity with powerful technology integrations, we helped create a flexible ecosystem that improves user experience, simplifies operations, and drives measurable business growth.

  • About the Company

    KeyTours is one of Greece’s most established tour operators. Founded in 1963 as a small sightseeing provider in Athens, it now welcomes more than 600,000 visitors every year. From group excursions and private tours to tailor-made adventures, KeyTours has built a reputation as a trusted travel partner for decades.

  • The Challenge

    KeyTours wanted to take a bold step forward. The company needed a new website that reflected its refreshed brand identity while also serving as the cornerstone of a larger digital transformation. The goals were ambitious:

     

    • Modernize the online booking experience
    • Connect with key internal systems and reseller networks
    • Adopt new digital marketing tools to reach a global audience

     

    In short, the website had to be more than a digital brochure — it needed to become the hub of KeyTours’ digital ecosystem.

  • The Solution

    We designed and developed a next-generation platform that brings together multiple services into one seamless system:

    • A brand-new website built with NextJS, fully aligned with the new brand identity
    • Integrated booking powered by the Ventrata API, enabling live availability search and on-site reservations
    • Direct connection to the CyberLogic CRM for smooth booking management
    • Secure online payments through CardLink
    • A custom CMS to centralize content management
    • Easy duplication of reseller websites for partners, reducing setup time
    • Automated feed uploads to Google Things To Do for increased visibility
    • A roadmap for future developments, including a dedicated mobile app
  • Behind the Technology

    The project is built as a network of interconnected services rather than a single website. The KeyTours platform combines custom-built features with external APIs, creating a flexible and scalable system.

     

    • The main website, reseller websites, and future mobile app all run on the same CMS and image CDN.
    • APIs keep everything connected: Ventrata for availability and bookings, CyberLogic for CRM, CardLink for payments.
    • A Lambda service automatically generates and uploads product feeds to Google Things To Do every 48 hours.

     

    This architecture means KeyTours isn’t locked into one solution. New sales channels, CRMs, payment methods, or marketing tools can be added as the company evolves.

The Results

Since launch, the new KeyTours platform has already shown measurable impact:

Savings of more than 15 man-months per year due to automation of systems synchronization, and more than 80% reduction in the possibility of human error. At the same time, an increase in the website’s direct sales of more than 40% compared to 2019, which was the office’s best online production year.

For KeyTours, this wasn’t just a new website. It was the beginning of a scalable digital ecosystem designed to grow with the company.
